The Covid-19 outbreak has taken a toll on most businesses across the world. With more countries around the world reporting new cases of infections, the economic impact of coronavirus is severe. In the global travel and tourism sector, 50 million jobs are at risk, with Asia being the most affected continent. In Malaysia, it is projected that the number of job losses could be an estimated 2.4 million, of which 67 percent are unskilled workers. Financial firms operating in Singapore and Hong Kong are also reported to delay hiring as the coronavirus outbreak disrupts their businesses.

However, not all industries are closing. Data from LinkedIn showed a demand for workers in roles that are on the frontlines of helping the nations navigate this pandemic, and are critical to supporting the rapidly-changing healthcare and infrastructure needs of the country.
