Astra Group has been progressively giving out COVID-19 vaccination for workers and the general public as a part of the government and private sector synergy. The initiative is part of the efforts to widen the scope and accelerate nationwide vaccination programs in order to achieve herd immunity.
From May 18, 2021, Astra Group started its vaccination drive through COVID-19 vaccination program “Vaksin Gotong Royong*” (VGR). This program is held at the same time as the workers vaccination program kick off, which was directly supervised by the President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo.
Step by step, Astra Group is currently in progress of giving out vaccination for more than 130,000 workers along with their nuclear family throughout Indonesia. This program follows the availability of the vaccine as coordinated by Indonesian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KADIN). The program is done with a collaboration with Kimia Farma.
President Director of Astra, Djony Bunarto Tjondro, stated that Astra Group has been progressively giving out vaccination for its workers as well as to the general public. This is a contribution from Astra Group to support the government in the acceleration towards herd immunity, which is also expected to accelerate the national economic recovery.

As of now, Astra Group has carried out this VGR vaccination program in several regions in the country through its major business lines, such as PT Astra International Tbk, PT Astra Honda Motor and its subsidiaries, PT Astra Daihatsu Motor, Pt Isuzu Astra Motor Indonesia, PT Astra Otoparts Tbk and its subsidiaries, PT Federal International Finance, PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk, PT United Tractors Tbk, PT Pamapersada Nusantara, PT Acset Indonusa Tbk, PT Agincourt Resources, PT Astra Tol Nusantara and its subsidiaries, and PT Serasi Autoraya and its subsidiaries.
Vaccination Centre for General Public
Besides the VGR vaccination program, Astra Group’s foundation Yayasan Dharma Bhakti Astra (YDBA) collaborates with Halodoc through Astra Pension Fund (DPA) in providing facilities, means and infrastructures of vaccination for the general public in several Vaccination Centres. Two vaccination programs have been done through YDBA COVID-19 Vaccination Centre, held in Cakung, East Jakarta, and DPA COVID-19 Vaccination Centre, held in Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD, South Tangerang. In total, 10.467 recipients were vaccinated, in which 7.407 recipients are pre-elderly, elderly, teachers, and public servants.
