Hong Kong Labour Department launches the Higher Education Employment Information e-Platform to provide degree holders with employment related information and a job search channel with a view of strengthening employment support for them.
A spokesman for the labour department said, “Job seekers with higher education, in particular Hong Kong students who were educated in tertiary institutes outside Hong Kong, the second generation of Hong Kong emigrants who are interested in working in Hong Kong, as well as persons from overseas with higher academic/professional qualifications, may enhance their understanding of the Hong Kong employment market as well as search and apply for suitable job openings through this newly dedicated webpage. Local job seekers who are degree holders are also welcome to use this e-platform.”

The e-platform has three major parts, namely “Job Search”, “Employment Information” and “Sharing Zone”. Job seekers may search for suitable vacancies through “Job Search”, and submit applications direct to the relevant employers if they fulfil the job requirements.
“Employment Information” provides job seekers with relevant information on the local working environment, including an overview of employment in Hong Kong, key industries, and immigration guidelines and working visa application procedures, qualification requirements of selected occupations, civil services vacancies, labour legislation, taxation, employment services in Hong Kong and so on.
“Sharing Zone” is a message board to allow visitors to bring up employment-related questions, supplemented by a wealth of frequently asked questions.
