Jobseekers in Malaysia now can access the JobsMalaysia 2.0 portal and find over 160,000 available employment opportunities from across the country. The upgraded job portal is also equipped with automatic matching feature that helps candidates find suitable positions more easily, New Straits Times reports.

Speaking at the portal launching, Human Resources Minister M. Kulasegaran said, “With the auto job matching feature, the JobMalaysia 2.0 portal will make recommendations on suitable jobs which are emailed to candidates.”

Developed by Mimos Bhd at the cost of RM24.5 million, Mr Kulasegaran added that the platform now could accommodate up to 19 million registered users and manage 40,000 people at a time. Furthermore, it also featured a psychometric test that provided career guidance based on applicants’ interests.

“The JobMalaysia 2.0 system is based on the Malaysia Standard Classification of Occupations 2008 as the national benchmark.”

From the data, JobsMalaysia has successfully made 183,433 job matchings last year. While in the first eight months of this year, it has matched 124,118 people with suitable positions.

According to Mimos Bhd chief technology officer Thillai Raj T. Ramanathan, the portal’s geospatial feature made it easier to look for job opportunities in the job seekers’ preferred locations. The job matching process is also done fully via machine technology using keywords that can be found in the applicants’ resumes.

The JobsMalaysia 2.0 application can also be downloaded via Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
