In the times to come, there will be high recruitment demands in several sectors including information technology, FMCG especially in beverage segment, and education/ training in Vietnam. For the information technology sector, some foreign enterprises specialising in technology application would like to open offices in Vietnam.

Besides, many enterprises have robust expansion plans; therefore, it is highly possible that the recruitment demands for information technology engineers will increase quickly from Q4 2016 to early 2017. Beverage segment is undergoing some fluctuations because of organisational restructure and M&A deals. Hence, it is predicted that significant recruitment demands will be seen in this segment in the next quarter and beginning of 2017.

These findings were published in a recently released report by Navigos Search on the recruitment demands for mid-level and senior managers in Vietnam in Q3 2016. In terms of the education and training sector, English training centers, international schools, and online education centers with new education models such as E-learning, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) would develop very fast.

As a result, it is estimated that candidates with good experience in this sector will be in high demand in the times to come.

Manufacturing, Retail, and Finance & Banking Sectors are Top 3 Recruiters

In Q3 2016, these sectors witnessed slight growth in clients’ recruitment demands compared to the earlier quarter. However, the recruitment demands went up by 66% in Quarter 3 against the same period last year.

Recruitment demands in the Manufacturing sector ranks the 1st with 38% in the quarter, followed by the Retail and Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) at 15%; meanwhile, the Finance, Banking and Insurance sector makes up for 12%.

While the manufacturing sector has the highest recruitment demand, the focus is mainly on industrial construction. In Q3 2015, the Garment and Textile sector saw high recruitment; nevertheless, this year the sector saw low recruitment demands. This reflects the reality confirmed by Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association that the sector is facing various difficulties, which will affect the export goal from now till the end of 2016.

Corporate Affair Director is highly Sought after in the Retail and Consumer Goods

External Relations Manager is a position in demand in the Retail, FMCG as well as other sectors, including insurance. This position is very important for business policies of all groups, especially foreign ones operating in Vietnam.

In Q3 and Q4 2016, enterprises often make their business plans for 2017 and this position is rather “hot”. However, according to the observation of Navigos Search, there are not many candidates eligible for this position, which requires them to have experience working with Government agencies, experience of communications work for multinational groups, good knowledge of laws etc.

In Q3 2016, many senior and mid-level managers were paid with a monthly salary from VND100 million to VND195 million. Enterprises in the Retail, FMCG and Education/Training sectors pay the highest salaries. Most of them are foreign enterprises operating in Vietnam.
