foodpanda, the on-demand international food delivery service, has recently implemented new employee benefits named paternity leave for 2019.
As of this year, new fathers at foodpanda Malaysia will be entitled to one month of paid paternity leave. foodpanda is one of the few companies in Malaysia to implement such a benefit.
In addition to that, foodpanda will be one of the first in Malaysia to provide their employees with both paid maternity and paternity leave to parents who adopt a child. Maternity leave of 90 days, as well as paternity leave of 30 days, will be granted to employees who adopt a child under the age of 5.
“foodpanda acknowledges the importance of parents spending quality time to bond with theirchild. We believe that it is important for both parents to play an active role in the early stagesof their child’s life,” said Sayantan Das, Managing Director, foodpanda Malaysia.
The foodpanda rider fleet will also be entitled to a new insurance policy effective on the 1st ofMarch 2019. All active riders will be fully covered up to RM20,000, 24 hours a day. The extensive insurance covers individuals from injuries and accidents, permanent disabilities as well as death.
