The advancements of technology in the workplace need to be aligned with equal development of the workforce. Responding to this trend, Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF) launched new initiatives as part of its efforts to help employers create agile workforce that embraces digital transformation.

Named as SNEFDigital initiative, SNEF said in an official statement on Wednesday (Feb 7) that they would be holding a series of masterclasses and workplace transformation programmes, including consultancy for the employees. The classes and programmes will be rolled out progressively through SNEF’s Workplace Transformation Programme (WTP), Straits Times reports.

The organisation expects that employers who want to train their staffs in digital skills or upgrade their human resource functions with digital technology can take advantage of the help.

Meanwhile, SNEFDigital aims to focus on three key areas of development. First, it will help employers, especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), to adopt digital technologies in their companies, including HR technology. Second, it will also train managers in digital skills. Third, SNEF will build data analytics capabilities among HR professionals in the country.

Companies embarking on the WTP can receive a 70 percent subsidy from Workforce Singapore for up to 100 consulting hours. They will need to pay $3,210 (including GST) after subsidy.

Regarding to the new initiative, SNEF president Robert Yap said that SNEFDigital is aimed at helping employers embrace the digital future and find the best ways to make IT work for enterprises.
