HCM City will need to recruit some 27,000 workers in August, according to the results of a survey released on Monday.
Demand for workers is highest in the information technology, textiles, garments and real estate sectors, along with the architecture, transportation, construction, logistics and sales sectors, the survey by the city’s Centre for Forecasting Manpower Needs and Labour Market Information (FALMI) found.
Unskilled workers account for 30 per cent of the demand, technical workers account for 25 per cent, vocational workers for 17 per cent, and postgraduates/undergraduates for 28 per cent of the demand.
Tran Anh Tuan, Vice Director of FALMI, said job opportunities for skilled, qualified and experienced employees would continue to increase. New graduates will have to compete for jobs with experienced workers.
Compared to June, the recruitment demand increased about 17 per cent in July, with most of the demand coming from major sectors such as tourism, hotel and restaurant services, sales and information technology.
