Atlas Sound & Vision is extremely proud to have won the highly coveted “SME Employer of the Year Award” at the recent HRM Asia Awards 2016 on 4 March held at The Ritz-Carlton Millenia Singapore – much to the jubilation of its employees and the management.
“We are extremely thrilled to be recognised with an award like this. We believe in investing in our people and as such have been putting a lot of effort into our people practices and processes. Getting this award is a reinforcement that we are on the right track. The company is built on passion and it is important that our people are emotionally engaged in what they do. Given that we will be going through an exercise to refine the Atlas brand this year, means we are aligned with the company’s overall plan,” says Sherwin Siregar, CEO of Atlas Sound & Vision Pte Ltd.
The HRM Awards 2016 was open to all Singapore-based employers from the private and public sectors; including all MNCs, local companies, government agencies and SMEs.
Touted as the “Oscars” of the local HR Industry, the 13th Annual HRM Awards 2016 saw over 800 HR and business leaders gathered at the event to celebrate and reward exemplary HR practices.
This year’s edition saw a total of 28 categories with the spotlight on Singapore’s small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in a whole new way, showing commitment from the organisers to support great HR and empowering HR teams from both major organisations and SMEs.
The criteria that applicants and the ultimate finalists were evaluated upon varied according to each award category. With about 100 employees currently in Singapore, Atlas Sound & Vision applies its well-defined principles to guide and drive policymaking regarding its people.
By being grounded in the Atlas Corporate Values and a deep belief for nurturing talent, Atlas has been successful in its application to translate that philosophy across its core processes.
Believing that employees should be treated as multifaceted people instead of just “workers” Atlas has initiatives such as Flexi-Family Care Leave and performance conversations with employees to talk about their passions, progress and experiences at work as well as what can be done to help them grow, all of which forms part of the larger performance management process.
As Atlas moves forward it wants to continue to transcend from the roles traditionally associated with HR, and be a dynamic department that is at the forefront of Employee Experience – from recruitment, to induction to performance management all of which HR is custodian of. Winning this award clearly indicates that Atlas is being steered in the right direction.
