TAMIL dailies reported that 85 workers and their families in an estate in Port Dickson had been retrenched.

The rubber estate is undergoing replantating, so the management gave the workers three-month termination notices. They were also asked to vacate their quarters.

They claimed that foreign workers were being hired for jobs during the replantating process instead of the retrenched local staff.
