DOLE Philippines Partners with LinkedIn to Bridge Jobs-Skills Mismatch Gap

The Department of Labour and Employment (Dole) Philippines has partnered with LinkedIn, an employment-oriented social networking site to address jobs-skills mismatch gap in the country.

Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III said LinkedIn, with Dole, has released its Philippine Skills Report, which top skills of four million LinkedIn Filipino members. The report includes, in-demand jobs in the country and is aimed at helping companies identify companies fit the hiring criteria.

“It will help companies fulfill their hiring needs and for the job seekers to find right opportunities fitted with their expertise,” said Silvestre Bello III in his statement. Information Technology (IT) topped LinkedIn’s top 10 industries where majority of its Filipino members come from.

This was followed by the outsourcing, education, banking and financial services, telecommunications, real estate, healthcare, computer software, oil and gas, and manufacturing industries.
