The annual conference of SKK Migas (Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities) on human resources and development (HRD) with the theme Employee Experience.
Indonesia HR Summit (IHRS) is a prestigious annual conference on Human Resources which was held at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center (BNDCC) on 18-19 September 2019. The organizer of this year’s event was SKK Migas with MIND ID, ConocoPhillips (Grissik) Ltd., PetroChina International Jabung Ltd. and Petronas Carigali Indonesia. This year’s HR Summit carried the theme ‘HR Transformation to Win Employee Experience’ inspired by Jacob Morgan’s book.
Employee experience is the experience gained by employees while working in a company or organization. There are three aspects that make up the employee experience itself, namely culture, physical space or work space, and technology.
“‘A great employee experience’ means paying attention to the things that matter in the worker’s daily life. We all believe that ‘experience’ means that this has a direct impact on the workforce in terms of motivation and work productivity. Good employee experience is not only beneficial for workers, but also for the organization in developing and dealing with increasingly complex industrial challenges, “said Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Ignasius Jonan at the opening of IHRS 2019, Wednesday (18/9).
Some speakers at the event included Ancora Group Founder Gita Wirjawan, West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil, Chair of Netmediatama Television and Creative Director of the 2018 OCC Asian Games Wishnutama, Jacob Morgan and many more. IHRS 2019 shared broader experiences from HR practitioners who spoke at this event. There were more than 800 participants from the CEO level to HR Managers from various fields of the company. The new thing displayed at IHRS 2019 is the “Experience Zone”, where participants experience interesting and different experiences by being in various creative zones that integrate culture, technology, and innovative workspaces so as to inspire participants to build a better employee experience.
In line with the 74th anniversary of Indonesia’s independence with the theme of Excellent HR, Advanced Indonesia, it is time for human resources (HR) in Indonesia to compete with the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC). Therefore, preparing Indonesian human resources thoroughly is a must in order to advance the Indonesian nation in the future.
IHRS 2019 is expected to help HRD practitioners to be able to form a system within the company / institution to build new human resources which incidentally is millennial generation into a qualified and highly competitive workforce.
